Barbara Fabbri

Twenty-five years ago, I went on a long journey to India to discover my personal yoga practice. I went to Mysore to practice Ashtanga Yoga, to Rishikesh for Vipassana Meditation and numerous times to Pune at the Iyengar Yoga Institute. I discovered self-discipline and acquired new knowledge to open my mat and practice on my own. As a teacher, my goal is to pass the gift of self-practice and care. I often share the meaning and the benefits of what I am teaching to empower my students to open their mat and practice from within.

My classes focus on skillfully balancing stability and mobility. This encourages students to experience inner space in one’s body, mind and to bring freedom to their breath. My style of teaching is dynamic, lighthearted, and full of encouragement. I use precise, instructional, and meaningful language to help students discover the intelligence of their bodies. Alignment in poses, the use of props, and thoughtful sequencing are some of the tools I use to help my students experience their own potential. I believe yoga should be accessible to everyone. With over twenty years of teaching experience, I have learned how to follow each individual in the class and adapt the practice to their needs.

I am a Junior III Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and an IAYT Yoga Therapist.
